I was very fortunate that I was able to secure raises for myself and nearly everyone on my team this performance review cycle. I realize I can't take all of the credit because the market has really put managements backs against the wall, but I fought hard for my team and they deserve everything they got and then some.
But at the end of the day, there is simply too much opportunity for growth out there for me to continue being a big fish in a small pond. I've had a great 10+ year run, and I feel like I've hit a bit of a ceiling as far as my own career growth goes. Currently the chain of command above me looks like this: Director of Technology
-> CTO
-> COO
-> CEO
so maybe it's time to explore other options.
My team is putting the finishing touches on the Case Management rewrite, my magnum opus for the organization, and while I was really looking forward to building even more exciting things on top of our brand new platform, I also recognize that sometimes the best move is to make space for others to grow by stepping aside. I know my team is going to continue to do amazing work to help find missing children and bring hope to families all over the country.
