This blog is mainly a public creative outlet for me to work on my writing and photography and share it online as I believe the web was/is intended to be used. As a tool to connect humans to each other so that we can share ideas and grow together. I kind of feel like using an LLM or other AI tool to generate creative work is taking away from that. In the same way that running my selfie through a filter gives me a version of my face that's not really my face, running my words through an LLM applies a filter to them, reducing my ownership.
These days I'm working at an AI company, and I happily subscribe to Github co-pilot, so I don't have anything against the technology really. I wouldn't even say that I have a problem with other people using LLMs to generate their own blog posts, or artwork, but I don't classify those things as creative works either. So even though I occasionally write posts about technical topics, all of the content is "creative work" from my mind to yours. Most times I don't even bother with a spell-checker (a combination of laziness and a technical limitation with orchards text fields) so what you're getting is just pure and unfiltered, warts and all 🙇🏾♂️
